How old were you when you 1st started tennis?

I started hitting balls at 4 years old. My mom was a teaching pro and a former player

What is your favourite tournament and why?

I think Wimbledon is the most prestigious and being half British I’d really like to win that one. Even from a young age I was watching “Breakfast at Wimbledon” on Sundays.

What would you still like to accomplish before you retire?

Definitely want to win Wimbledon!

So, how much longer do you intend to play?

As long as my body will hold up…

What goes through your mind when you think about your partnership with Nestor ending after such a long time and a heck of a year this year? You two won the French Open and the Queens Club tournaments.

Well we had a very successful career together. I am disappointed that it was not handled with more professionalism and class. I felt that our partnership as well as our friendship deserved more respect. However, our record will speak for itself.

Was there ever any discussion of just not splitting up?

There was a lot of discussion to finish out the year after Nestor had hastily made a decision that he regretted. Unfortunately, Dan did not have the fortitude to get himself out of the difficult situation that he instigated.

We now see pictures of you and Graham with the tennis racquet. How will you answer Graham if he tells you he wants to be a professional tennis player when he grows up?

Like most parents, I love Graham so much that he could do whatever he wants to do and I will support him. I may try to influence him to play baseball-haha!

How much time do you spend in the weight room a day?

I don’t lift too much. I work on strengthening “my core”, lots of abdominals. Trying to do more yoga to help lengthen and stretch my muscles. Also improves flexibility, which helps you on the court.

What is your favorite tennis drill?

I like to play where one person is in a corner and the other one is at the net position across the court and then you play the point out.
