Unfortunately, Mark and Mahesh's spectacular run in their maiden slam ended today as they fell to Erlich/Ram in the semifinals. The Israeli duo won 6-4, 6-4. Mark and Mahesh, were unable to convert on their break point opportunities and they had six of them. Still it was an amazing run and they did beat the number one team in the world in the tournament which is a great achievement in itself!

January 23rd, 2008

The quarterfinal match between Mark/Mahesh and the Bryan Brothers turned out to be a great one and in the end, Mark and Mahesh pulled it out 6-3, 5-7, 7-6! The match was extremely close and credit goes to both teams for playing well. Our team will now play Erlich/Ram in the semifinals!

January 22nd, 2008

Mark and Zi Yan made fairly quick work in their doubles match, winning 7-5, 6-2 against Tu/Matkowski. They face Chuang/Erlich in the quarterfinals.

January 21st, 2008

Mark and Mahesh dominated against Fyrstenberg/Matkowski, winning 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals! They will now face the Bryan Brothers with a semifinal berth on the line.

January 20th, 2008

Mark and Mahesh easily defeated Allegro/Vliegen in the 2nd round. They will face Fyrstenberg/Matkowski in the 3rd round. Huge thanks to Stuart Fraser for snapping a few pictures!

Mark and Zi Yan defeated Uhlirova/Coetzee in the 1st round of the mixed doubles. They won 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.

January 17th, 2008

Mark and Mahesh won a tight two set battle against Youzhny/Zverev in their opening doubles match, winning 7-6, 6-4. The tiebreaker was back and forth but Mark and Mahesh were able to take it, and then hold and secure a break in the 2nd set to win. They will face Allegro/Vliegen in the 2nd round. Mark will soon begin his campaign with Zi Yan in the mixed doubles, as the #3 seeds, and they are last up tomorrow on Court 6 against Uhlirova/Coetzee.

January 9th, 2008

Mark and Mahesh unfortunately did not win in their debut, as they fell to Berdych/Stepanek. The Czech's won 6-4, 6-4 and made it tough on service games. Mark managed to save all 9 break points he faced on his serve, but the Czech's were able to break Mahesh's serve twice in the match to seal the win. Tough day but it was their first match together and hopefully they can get some good practice in before the Australian Open begins. Thanks to Emma Tan for taking the time to get some photos of Mark again!

The draw is out for the Medibank International tournament in Sydney, and Mark and Mahesh have drawn the Czech duo of Berdych/Stepanek. They are in the same quarter of the draw as the #2 seeds, Nestor/Zimonjic.
